Sundays seem to be the day the power is off the most...  Today was no exception.  We’ve been working six days then taking Sunday as a Sabbath.  After a leisurely breakfast Gene read a devotional that opened up fellowship and sharing from our hearts.  A great time of prayer followed as we lifted our praises and petitions to the Father.  The lights went off shortly afterward.

At 2:00 p.m. we went to a community service in the hospital Chapel.  Once a month there’s a gathering of any missionaries from the area who want to fellowship together.  What a time we had!  We welcomed several men from World Medical Mission as well as a young couple who came to serve for a month.  Jeffrey read from the word and hymns were sung with gusto.
Jordan & Josiah

  Jordan & Josiah played their guitars for offertory.  Dr Jim played an exquisite trumpet medley of Jesus Is the Sweetest Name I Know and What a Friend We Have in Jesus.
Josiah

Then Josiah awed us with his arrangement of a medley on his guitar;
chording, picking, strumming. It was incredible. Ed from WMM shared stories of God’s faithfulness from his many years in missions worldwide. He read how Hezekiah put his house in order. Then he entreated us to consider our house. Is there Honor, Order, Unity, Steadfastness, Endurance in our house? Words worthy of consideration and yieldedness that challenged and encouraged all of us.

Afterward it became a lazy, relaxing day, catching up on emails, blogging, naps, reading, walks and quiet time.  Blessed Sabbath for the Blessed One.  Time to consider his goodness, love and protection, provision…  Is there any god like Him?

Late in the afternoon, the clouds gathered and thunder rolled majestically from every mountain that surrounds this beautiful place.  On the front porch, feeling the swing reverberate with the force of the rolling thunder, I remembered the song “You speak with thunder and lightning.  Your voice shakes the mountains, the foundations of the earth.  All I can offer is this fragile breath.  But with each breath I’ll praise you, with each breath…”  by Todd Agnew.  Amazing grace, amazing place, amazing are these children of an amazing God.
